Celebrities and Politics.

New Debate!!

Should celebrities keep their mouths shut about politics or should they be able to endorse a candidate? Before you make your decision here are some points from both sides.

Yes: Celebrities should be able to endorse candidates by wearing shirts, having bumper stickers, even talking about their favorite candidate on TV.
Celebrities should be treated just like normal people. If a normal person was to wear an Obama or McCain t-shirt, you wouldn't yell at them, would you? Just like anyone else, famous people have the right to vote and it's great that they're taking time out of their busy schedules to do so.

No: Celebrities should keep their opinions to themselves and stick to what they do best, whether it be acting, singing, dancing, directing, etc.
Let's face it, some Americans are so obsessed with their favorite celebrity that they could go from a McCain supporter to a Barack fan the minute the celebrity says 'Obama!'. An average person should not be influenced by Hollywood.

With that said, post your opinions in the comments below! Make sure to keep it clean!

I think that celebrities are regular people, and should be treated as such. It's their choice, and some celebrities are more public and dramatic and crap about their views (and their lives in general, for that matter) than others. Some are silent when it comes to politics, others not. They KNOW people are obsessed with them. They KNOW therefore, that they can change people's views, and get more votes for their candidate, however annoying it may be.

Some celebrities may abuse their political power. We can't change it. It's gonna happen. They may as well be able to.

Most celebrities (notice I say MOST, not ALL) are liberal. It's just how they work, and us conservatives have to deal with it.

I think that celebrities should keep their mouths shut. I'm not trying to be mean, but they can't change other people's opinions. Also, I honestly don't care about their opinion, I care about mine. When you're an adult you learn that you don't typically vote and tell, that you're supposed to keep it to yourself.
